Let's try to imagine which design style should follow video chat room to attract the biggest amount of people. As for my taste it should not use too rich color box, not to be too florid (such kind of design would better fit some online gaming portal). Besides it should be "lightweight" or easy and quick to download. It is definitely a good idea to test whether it is displayed correctly in most popular browsers (other than Windows default Internet Explorer) too. You can add your own ideas in addition to mine.

Well, Christian, you've concerned a particularly amazing theme. One of my favorite though. Here are my observations about Video chat room constructing. Another very important thing to be done is user's workplace, which should be organized according to principles of ergonomics. Try to grant users opportunity not to spend too much time, seeking for a certain controls, while chatting. That would be pretty convenient if they could operate software without complicated manipulations. I'd prefer to use hot keys.

Hello, everyone! What kind of web camera do you use to show yourself, achieving the best quality of a picture? What resolution do you expect to be preferable in concern of stream bandwidth it demands vs. details ratio. Mean which one is still good enough not to miss tiny details, though is able to be transported and watched on a low speed internet connection channel. When I enter video chat room I wish resolution to be realizable. I'd prefer to use 320*240 resolution, optimal for a face-to-face chat.

Brad, I also prefer high resolution online video to see all the emotions on my partners face during conversation, for other situations I use 240*160 size window. The other aspect of providing a high quality Video chat room conversation, which does matter a lot, is audio stream bit rate that site maintaining software would use. I think 24 Kbit per second would be enough to recognize your speech rather clearly. Though it depends on the microphone you use and noise reduction algorithm as well. That's it.

So, Eduardo, what do you think about integrated microphone? I tried to compare my voice, captured by the internal microphone with recorded by a professional mic. The difference was not so obvious, in spite of the difference in cost. Well, have you ever get in funny situations, while loiter in Video chat room? I've got a lot of them. Once I've forgotten to turn off my web cam, while was changing my clothes. When I've noticed that it is broadcasting the whole process over web, I blushed to the roots of my hair.

God damn, Coldy, wish I could see it. I consider amateur striptease to be much more exciting than one, performing to get money for it.
